Who These Retreats Are For
Proverbs 13:12 Retreats are faith-based healing retreats for women who are struggling with the effects of an unhealthy or emotionally abusive marriage — whether you are still married, separated, going through a divorce, or already divorced and struggling to heal from what you experienced.
You may find yourself asking:
Why am I so unhappy, anxious, or emotionally exhausted?
Why do I feel so alone?
Why does nothing ever seem to change?
Why do I feel like I’m losing myself?
Why do I keep questioning what really happened?
Why do I still miss him after everything he did?
Why can’t I stop thinking about the relationship?
Why can’t I seem to get closure and move forward?
Maybe you are still trying to understand what is happening in your marriage or wondering whether what you are experiencing is emotional abuse. Or maybe you already recognize what happened, but you cannot understand why you still feel emotionally attached, why your mind keeps replaying the past, why you are grieving someone who hurt you, or why you still feel stuck long after the relationship ended.
Leaving an unhealthy relationship does not automatically end its emotional and psychological effects. You may know intellectually that the relationship was harmful while still deeply missing the person you once hoped he would be. You may have physical distance from him while your mind remains consumed with trying to understand what happened, make sense of conflicting memories, or find the closure you never received. These retreats are for that part of the healing journey, too.
Through biblical teaching, trauma-informed education, and practical healing tools, we help women understand what they have experienced, recognize unhealthy patterns, rebuild trust in their own reality, strengthen their relationship with God, and begin moving toward clarity, healing, freedom, and hope.
You do not have to know what you are going to do about your marriage before you come. Our purpose is not to tell you whether to stay, separate, or divorce. And if your marriage has already ended, you do not have to have figured out how to “move on.” The retreat provides a safe place to understand your experience, ask difficult questions, begin untangling the emotional effects of the relationship, and discover healthy next steps for your own healing journey.
You do not need to be certain that what you have experienced “qualifies” as emotional abuse in order to attend.
